The annual awards, held in Manchester, by FirstGroup are described as celebrating the best of the best within FirstGroup companies. FTS accounts for less than 1% of the 110,000 FirstGroup employees so to have 3 finalists shortlisted at the 2017 awards is testament to the ongoing commitment and hard work of all employees.
Kerry Lambson, Operations & Compliance Manager at FTS won the Delivering our Vision Award – keeping people moving.
Back in 2014 Kerry identified that working towards and achieving International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) accreditation would support FTS in delivering our 5-year plan in all key areas. In just 18 months, Kerry single-handedly managed and delivered ISO accreditation. FTS was successfully awarded ISO 9001 Quality Management, ISO 14001 Environmental Management and OHSAS 18001 Occupational Health and Safety standards in December 2015.
In addition to Kerry’s win, the FTS Rugby World Team represented by Andy Scholey, Richard Kirk and Joe Bryant, won the Delivering our Strategy Award – combining expertise.
Gary Trotter and Joe Bryant were also runners up for the Delivering our Strategy Award – spreading best practice. This was for their work with GWR and First West of England for the Severn Tunnel operation.
The Be First awards are held annually by FirstGroup to recognise the achievements of their staff across all their operating companies in the UK, North America and Canada.
“These people reflect our company's Vision, Strategy and Values in their behaviours and actions. Whether it be a consistent effort to improve performance and deliver great service every single day or a one-off heroic event, they are role models and represent the true strength of the 110,000 people across FirstGroup.
Congratulations to the winners and the runners up who are an inspiration to us all."
