FTS introduces a new Disabled Accessible Coach to give Blackburn Rovers fans the chance to see their team play away!
Paul Marney, FTS Group Travel Manager stated ‘Blackburn Rovers have long taken an inclusive approach to making services and facilities accessible for all of their fans. We are delighted therefore to introduce this specially adapted vehicle which will ensure that fans who require additional facilities can now travel to away matches in complete comfort and safety. The specially adapted coach features a lift, saloon-level toilet, hearing loop, storage area for wheelchairs and walking aids and facilities for hot and cold drinks’.
The new addition to the team is proving very popular with supporters who need to use a lift to access the vehicle. Regular travellers Trevor Jackson, Alex Hook and Peter Taylor have followed Rovers on the road for years and are very impressed with the coach, stating that the coach is ‘comfortable with plenty of leg room’.
The new service means more and more supporters are able to travel to away matches and we even achieved a club first when 11 wheelchair users (four of whom remained in their chairs for the journey), together with Bob and his guide dog, made the recent trip to the Burnley match.
